Frequently asked questions
Your questions have answers.
We've gathered here the questions business owners ask us most before engaging — because we believe a good decision starts with clear information.
About Pró-Contaty
The main difference lies in how we work. Most accounting firms operate reactively: they receive documents, calculate taxes, submit accessory obligations, and wait for the next month. This is compliance accounting — necessary, but insufficient for companies that want to grow.
Pró-Contaty operates consultatively. Beyond meeting all obligations with technical rigor, our professionals track the business's evolution, flag risks before they become problems, identify tax opportunities, and actively participate in the entrepreneur's strategic decisions.
We are a boutique firm, which means a selective portfolio, a dedicated technical manager, and direct communication — not a ticket system or a rotating call center. In 31 years on the market, we've served 500+ companies and learned that the difference between an accountant and a strategic partner is exactly this: presence, proactivity, and genuine commitment to the client's results.
Over 31 years, we've served companies from virtually all sectors — technology, healthcare, retail, construction, professional services, manufacturing, and others. In terms of size, our focus is on SMEs with annual revenues between R$ 360,000 and R$ 30 million.
The client profile that benefits most from our work is the entrepreneur who has grown, who has a company with real complexity — multiple partners, diversified operations, expanding team — and who realized that the accounting that served them at the start no longer meets this level of demand.
We also serve Brazilian companies with operations in the United States, offering support for internationalization, accounting and tax representation, and advisory for those who need a partner that understands both sides of the operation.
If you're not sure whether your profile fits, the best path is a conversation. The free diagnosis exists exactly for that.
Services & Process
This is the biggest fear of those unhappy with their current accountant — and we completely understand. The good news is that, when done methodically, the switch is much simpler than it seems.
At Pró-Contaty, we developed what we call the "Seamless Transition": a structured three-step process that guarantees full continuity of tax, accounting, and payroll obligations during the migration.
Step 1 — Diagnosis and understanding: we speak with you to map out the current situation, identify pending issues, and plan the transition with clear dates and responsibilities.
Step 2 — Collection and organization: our team requests all necessary files, filings, and documents from your previous accountant. You don't need to mediate anything — we handle everything.
Step 3 — Activation and follow-up: once we have the history in hand, you start being served normally by Pró-Contaty, with an initial alignment meeting and introduction to your dedicated technical manager.
The entire process, under normal conditions, takes between 15 and 30 days.
- The company doesn't yet have a structured finance department and the partner accumulates this function
- The internal finance team is overloaded or experiencing high turnover
- Existing reports are insufficient to support strategic decisions
- The cost of maintaining a qualified in-house team exceeds that of BPO
- The company is in rapid growth and needs quick scalability
Financial BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) is the outsourcing of a company's operational financial management. In practice, it means that an external specialized team takes over the activities of the internal finance department — or creates that department where it doesn't yet exist.
Services include: accounts payable and receivable management, bank reconciliation, invoice and billing issuance, cash flow, management reports, and support for financial decision-making.
It's worth outsourcing when:
Pró-Contaty's Financial BPO is integrated with the accounting service, which eliminates rework, reduces errors, and ensures that financial and accounting data are always aligned.
Reducing the tax burden — legally — begins with an honest diagnosis of the company's current classification. Many Brazilian SMEs overpay taxes simply because they've never reviewed their tax regime since opening, or because they've never taken advantage of credits and deductions available in the legislation.
Pró-Contaty's main areas of action in tax planning include:
Tax regime review: comparative analysis of Simples Nacional, Lucro Presumido, and Lucro Real to identify the most efficient regime for your revenue, margin, and sector.
Credit utilization: non-cumulative PIS/COFINS, ICMS, IPI, and other credits that many companies simply fail to use due to lack of guidance.
Profit distribution: correct structuring of partner compensation to reduce total tax incidence within legal compliance.
Succession and asset planning: establishment of holding companies to optimize the taxation of partners' personal assets.
All tax planning at Pró-Contaty is done based on current legislation, with legal certainty and complete documentation.
Under normal conditions, full service activation happens within 30 days of signing the contract. This timeframe includes collecting and organizing the documentary history (if switching accountants), team onboarding, and the initial alignment meeting with your dedicated technical manager.
In cases where there's no accountant switch — new companies or those just starting — the timeframe can be considerably shorter.
Throughout the transition process, our team maintains active communication with you, informing you of the status of each step and ensuring no obligation is compromised. You'll never need to keep calling to find out what's happening.
Each Pró-Contaty client has a dedicated technical manager — a professional who knows your company, your history, and your particularities. This is your primary point of contact for questions, requests, and updates.
Communication happens through the most practical channels for the client: email, WhatsApp, and periodic meetings (in-person or by video call, depending on preference). We don't work with impersonal ticket systems or rotating call centers.
In addition to day-to-day contact, we deliver periodic management analysis meetings — structured moments to review the numbers, discuss opportunities, and align accounting with business goals. Not just reports arriving by email: real conversations about what the data means for the future of your company.
International & Special
Yes. Pró-Contaty offers specialized service to Brazilian companies with operations in the United States and support for business internationalization.
This service includes advisory for establishing entities abroad, legal and corporate representation, management of fiscal and accounting obligations for the Brazilian operation integrated with the American operation, and guidance on taxation of international remittances, IOF, and other relevant regulatory aspects.
We serve Brazilian companies that already have an LLC or Corp in the US and need an accounting partner in Brazil that understands the operation from end to end — without having to manage two misaligned firms.
For companies evaluating international expansion, we also offer preliminary consulting on legal structuring, comparative taxation, and internationalization planning.
If this is your situation, the free diagnosis is the best starting point.
